The GSMA holds Mobile World Congress events in Barcelona and Shanghai each year in order to bring together the worldwide mobile industry, showcase exciting new technologies and products, and educate attendees about the mobile industry. Regardless of where the events take place, global audiences gather to take part.


Mobile World Congress Shanghai is unique in that, in addition to the above goals, it includes mobile-passionate consumers in its audience. By including the end consumers, the event appeals to the entire ecosystem from start to finish.

It might be simple to assume that MWC Shanghai is only focused on or appeals to the Asian market or Asian consumers. While a large portion of attendees are from China, and MWC Shanghai presents an excellent opportunity to get in front of an Asian audience, the event maintains global appeal. Our 2015 event had:

• 100 unique operator groups represented from around the globe – 97 of them outside of China.
• 101 total countries represented by our attendees and exhibitors.
• Over 8,000 companies were represented. The top countries in terms of attendance were China, Korea, Taiwan, USA, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, France, UK and Hong Kong.
